The Pie-off

Like any good Chicagoan, I am fiercely proud of my city and all of the traditions which that entails... all, that is, except deep dish Chicago pizza.

The battle between Chicagoans and New Yorkers over the best style of 'pie' is a long and complex one. Ranging from neighborhood kitchens to Food Network Challenges, the world seems to be continually searching to find the true victor between Chicago style deep dish and NYC flat crust. I would never go so far as to sell myself ou
t to New York'
s thin crust pizza (as aligning myself with the Yankees is both against my honor as a Cubs fan and as a hum
an being). However, that being said, there are many qualms with the cake-like pizza so deeply revered by my city.

So my vote? Chicago or NYC Style? I say neither. The real winner here reaches back far past my roots as a Chicago resident and into my Italian heritage: Napoli's finest--real italian pizza.
